The BEEN Rising Grant is a mini-grant for anyone who identifies as a BIPOC artist.
Each grantee will receive up to $200 for their project of choice. Although that may not seem like a lot, the goal isn’t to (necessarily) fund an entire project but instead help with what could be an expensive single cost or a barrier to entry to a creative project.
— a microphone for a podcast;
— an Adobe subscription;
— funds toward a camera;
— or even some new materials.
The application will be open from January 15th to February 15th, 2019. Grantees will be contacted individually first and then announced on social media.
For this round, there will be 3 mini-grants awarded.
— For this first round, there will be 3 total grantees.
Clear project proposal and need
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’ll do my best to answer as promptly as possible.
Brown Environmentalist is not a non-profit. Rather it’s an independent project and platform, like many activist movements that have been created online. For all intents and purposes, this mini-grant is a grassroots endeavor: one person trying to make a difference. We’re trusting in the community and applicants to submit honest requests and to treat the process with integrity.
